My first 5 star of the year. This book was amazing. I wanted to read it slow so that I could hang on to the characters and the story a little longer. Brittainy Cherry has this amazing ability to write the most broken characters and give them hope. Each one of her books has made me sit on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, hoping so hard that love mends all. And she kills it every time. Andrea is a very young girl, who is forced to mourn her fiancé, childhood sweetheart and love of her life. Cooper is a famous reality tv star who is in an unhappy marriage, miserable career, and is floating through fame. Andrea and Cooper are also childhood friends. The Space in Between edition by Brittainy Cherry Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I loved this book. I didn't think I would, but I was treated to a surprise. I could easily relate to Andrea's broken-ness. I loved her friend Ladasha and I believe I fell just as much in love with Cooper Davidson as any reader could. These characters and the surrounding cast of characters became very real to me in the writing of Ms Cherry. So character development= strong and true. Storyline was strong, consistent, and the reading was fluent and smooth. Actually, Brittany had a surprise or two for the reader as she tied her characters together through various sub characters. A-ha moments and I liked that.
The conflict was set up quite believably and as in most cases, time is the best healer! There is so much to be said for this great love story, but I am fearful of giving away too much. Ms Cherry allowed her characters to unfold their story, their drama and their brokenness. True friendships were forged as were truly romantic relationships. I thought Ms Cherry did an excellent job of creating a very satisfying, romantic read which included lots of wisdom and humor as well.
I would definitely recommend this read to those who enjoy romance, pure and simple. I would encourage Ms Cherry to continue on, as this was a debut novel and she has what it takes to hold a reader's interest and heart...a lovely story, The Space In Between.
I was given a copy of this book from the author or her representative in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the element series by Brittainy Cherry. This book was poorly written, I'm guessing it was an early novel without editing. So many grammatical errors and the story had way too much happening in it. I really almost quit reading, because it was so distracting, but I don't like not having an ending, so I stuck it out to the end. There were also a lot of parts that seemed really immature or childish, rather than speaking about adults. With some editing this could be a great story.
This is my second Brittainy Cherry book and I absolutely loved it! The main characters in her books are both struggling with problems and end up helping each other out along the way. The Space in Between introduces us to Andrea who is living with a broken heart and Cooper, who's heart just got ripped out and handed to him by his wife.
We start off learning about Andrea and her tragic past. She lives in a small town where everybody is all up in your business, so she can't ever seem to move on from the accident that claimed her fiancee. Deciding she has had enough, Andrea heads to New York and start over. She moves in with her friend Ladasha, who immediately finds her a job. Andrea is a dancer so while desperate, in New York for the first time, she finds a pretty stereotypical job for a hot gal that can dance. She is away from home, but is still having a hard time getting over her fiancee, wondering if she will ever be able to live a somewhat normal life.
Some what normal isn't anything Cooper Davidson knows anymore. He is a small town boy with a big talent, one that landed him in New York and made him rich and famous. Cooper and his wife star on a reality show due to their combined talents, however behind the scenes is a different story altogether. Cooper's wife drops the bomb that she is pregnant by another man and sends him off of the rails.
So the small town boy bumps into the small town girl in this monster of a city and we start the crazy train from here. Cooper is fascinated with Andrea, however can see how broken she is. Andrea thinks Cooper is hot, but he hides the crazy a bit better than her. They both know they want each other, but also know there is a truck load of emotional baggage on either side to consider, so they become the space in between order and chaos for each other. Which I loved by the way.
Cooper and Andrea set some ground rules for what they are doing, including an emotional safe word, but the game changes when he falls in love with her. Knowing this is what he wants, Cooper treads lightly to help Andrea move on from her past. A trip home does nothing for the couple, however makes things more interesting for Ladasha. On the outside Cooper seems to have it together as compared to Andrea, however he is hiding things from her, things that are going to be deal breakers in the end.
The book is well written and flows nicely. I noticed in her writing, Brittiany Daniels fleshes out all of her peripheral characters, so you are even wondering what is going to happen with Andrea's brother when this all comes to an end. With the characters so involved, the story never gets boring and besides the POV chapters, I love that in a book.
