I have loved all of these books so far! They continue right from the place the last one left off and keep sharing more news about each person in the Mitchell family. I love the cockiness of Ty and Conner, but in this book we get to see the softer side of Ty. He has so grown up over the last 10+ years from Van's boyfriend, in a coma from crashing while driving drunk on the way home from a party. Now he is a loving husband to Miranda and their three kids, as well as taking care of the rest of the Mitchell's when needed. And now a bit about this story...Noah's uncle, a long lost relative, comes back and starts to drive a wedge between Savanna and Colt. Just before Colt is about to go out of town Savanna gets some bad news, but decides to keep it to herself. While Colt and Noah are out visiting Noah's uncle, Savanna just needs someone to talk to, so she calls Miranda - but Ty answers. He can tell something is wrong and finally drags it out of her. In no time he is on a flight from North Carolina to Kentucky to help take care of her and her girls. When Colt comes home early, he thinks the worst and has given Ty a black eye before they can explain anything. Once he kinds out what is really going on he comes around real quick and goes back to being the strong and loving the father and husband we have grown to love. Give this series or story a try, you will not be sorry.
Favorite passages: She was playing some game on her kindle that she played every night before bed. ... "Are you goin' to put down that game and give me some lovin'"... I heard her little reading device hit the floor and I knew I had her complete attention. --> this reminded me so much of me, I read instead of play games, but take my kindle to bed every night ;)
Flashback: I ran my hands across his cheek, spreading a trail of dirt everywhere I touched. Mud ran down his chest and as the lightning continued to strick, I could see just how dirty he was. --> I'm going to think of this every time it rains now ;)

It's not all sunshine and roses for Colt and Savanna. Life has a way of just happening, and into their lives come the storm(s); just like it does for each one of us human beings.
The situation with Noah was so heart-wrenching. I could feel Colt's being pulled-apart by how to handle it and in the end the pain he feels in knowing his choices lead to Savanna's heartbreak. He did the only thing he could and what finally happens is so sad, for Noah. How Savanna deals with her feeling of 'loss' with how Noah treats her very realistic and hurt this reader's heart! Thankfully; things do play-out into a dramatic conclusion which is compounded by what Savanna is being forced to do while Colt and Noah are with Uncle Zeke in California.
I can only guess that what is happening with Savanna is patterned after what has been happening in Angelina Jolie's life. First off, I applaud Jennifer Foor for tackling such a delicate subject. It's written with sensitivity, enough detail to let us readers know what Savanna is going through, and the humor that only TY can add to this series. TY really manages the comic relief but we readers see a side of TY that he's not real comfortable showing - that is the sensitive side of a most-times, silly guy. I do think Savanna dealing with it alone was heart-wrenching. That TY forces himself into Savanna's life in order to help her deal - what a friend. Special mention to Miranda for sending TY to help Savanna in her need of a good friend and that Miranda isn't 'threatened' by the closeness between the one time lovers. Colt, however, is a guy and they act a bit different when their wife seems to be teaming-up with their best friend.......one time lover.
In this book we have so much angst and drama - definitely a period of time in the lives of Colt and Savanna, when things are NOT going real great. Doesn't that happen to each one of us in this thing we call life? We also get to visit Miranda, Conner, Amy, and many others including a hoard of kids - growing like weeds. Seems like yesterday we had that first book that started this series - TY in a coma, Savanna and Colt falling in love, and we readers getting to know all things MITCHELL.
As always, this reader really enjoys TY. He is just such a great character. The man-child is sex on a stick and he knows it, lives it, breathes it, and voices it with regularity. He can be so sensitive when he needs to be but he never stays in that zone for long and always (ALWAYS) has to come-out with some crass comment that usually gets him in trouble. In book one I really didn't like TY much. Book two however.......made this reader Team TY. He is downright goofy, sexy, funny, loud/dirty-mouthed, and horny. He is now thirty years old in this book and this reader doesn't think he'll ever change or grow-up. He and Miranda make quite a pair and forever she'll have to contain her man-child - something she has to be aware of. TY and Conner together geez......combustible. TY's twin boys will likely give TY quite a lot of grey hair down the road.......although TY is the ring-leader of trouble.
I liked how the drama with Savanna; finally plays-out. She makes the only choice she can and the one that will (hopefully) insure her a long healthy life. I did also like how Colt acted once Savanna told him what she was going through. Colt is a very strong man but when faced with the possible loss of his wife is not afraid to show how he is feeling. At the end of this book we get a MITCHELL family that has gone through the ringers-of-life, and come out stronger for it.
I loved this story and thankfully......TY helped with the comic relief that kept the story from becoming too entrenched in serious-sadness. At the end of the book we get a note that the next book in this series is about Heather. I'm looking forward to how the one-time-skank (she redeemed herself, somewhat), can handle her own life once she accepted that TY could never be hers. She now has a son and apparently......problems to deal with. I also hope that we get more TY......down the road. He and Miranda........'da bomb'.
